THE 2026 SEASON CONTINUES….
Blessed with perfect summer weather, and dodging the worst of the heatwaves (so far!), the summer season of events has continued with some wonderful afternoons of great entertainment.
SONG AND DANCE on 26th July provided a showcase for local talent; starting off with the colourful Forest of Dean Morris dancers, followed by Swingcopation, a superb community big band from Chepstow. Then Chepstow Show Music Choir sang hits from the shows, followed by Wimberry Clog giving a display of traditional dancing. The afternoon came to a rousing conclusion with the marvellous Coleford Community Choir. A few audience comments:
“a wonderful way to spend a sunny afternoon. Thank you!” “Marvellous!”
“Love the variation of entertainment. Wish there was more!”
The amazing Pantaloons brought their “SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES” to the Bandstand on 2nd August. Over 300 people flocked to see this anarchic and brilliantly performed rendition of a favourite classic. Judging by the laughter throughout, and the whoops and cheers at the end, a great time was had by all!
There are still two more events to come, so do put the dates in your diaries:
Sunday 23rd August: THE PICKWICK PAPERS by Rain or Shine Theatre Company
Tickets on the gate or book on Rain or Shine’s website
Saturday 29th August: MUSICAL EXTRAVAGANZA
An afternoon of rock, rhythm & blu
